Students from a Montgomery County, Maryland, high school walked out of classes early Monday morning to protest the presidential election results. Montgomery County schools spokesman Derek Turner said the protest at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, was planned and expected to remain on campus. However, after gathering on the football field, dozens of students left the school and marched on University Boulevard. The students headed north on University Boulevard to Wheaton, Maryland. Video from Chopper showed Montgomery County police shadowing the students from the southbound lanes. The students marched off University Boulevard to the parking area of the Westfield Wheaton mall. They gathered on the top floor of the parking deck shortly before noon, about an hour after the protest began.
